My Approach

I look to inspire and motivate the creative mind by using Percussion and rhythms to create emotion or set up musical ideas. At an early age I was drawn to learning to play the drums and performing. I hope to grow as a musician everyday , and I believe that Teaching is a great way to become a better musician. Using the rudimental background I acquired from being apart of performing groups in the DCI and WGI activities I am able to help communicate and share ideas to help someone succeed at becoming a better percussionist/drummer.

My Story

From a young age I began playing rhythms wether it be with my hands or banging on pots and pans. I grew up learning to actually play the drums going to church. My older cousin played a big part in me learning by watching him every Sunday, until I was brave enough and ready to ask if I could start playing. I had a few Drum set lessons growing up but mainly learned to play by ear, until I started Percussion in 6th grade.

I was fortunate in my school years I was able to be taught by some great Percussionist . From 8th grade until I graduated High School I was heavily involved with Rudimental Snare Drumming. I was apart of the 2005  WGI Independent Open Gold medalist Surround Sound Percussion as a Senior in High School. I than later marched  DCI with the Boston Crusaders for 3 seasons 2007, 2008, 2009 two of which I was Snare section leader. DCI not only shaped me in to becoming a performer but learning how to work hard , and lead a group of musicians were some of my biggest lessons.

Music and Percussion have been a constant in my life and continue to be every day. I look forward to growing as a human and musician in this life. I want to help others succeed and become passionate about Music and the Arts.
